So how does our natural deodorant work?
Traditional deodorants use alcohol, aluminium and petrochemicals, so it’s unsurprising that men suffer from skin irritation on the delicate underarm skin. Our formulas preserve the skin’s natural balance for healthy and fresh underarms.
Sweat is almost entirely made up of water, with a small percentage of proteins, salt and oils. So sweat doesn’t smell. Our skin has millions of normal bacteria that metabolise sweat and the by product is the odour that can be so unpleasant.
While natural ingredients are slightly more expensive (than waste products of the petrochemicals industry) they are far more gentle and efficient at tackling body odour.

We therefore recommend you applying our natural deodorant daily for two weeks for your body to adjust.

Natural Deodorant FAQs
Learn more about natural deodorants, including how they work and why we sweat anyway.
Why do we sweat anyway?
Sweating is a perfectly healthy and normal body process. It’s our way of regulating body temperature or cooling off - hence why we sweat during stressful periods, exercise or in hotter climates.
But contrary to popular belief, sweat is almost entirely made up of water, with a small percentage of proteins, salt and oils. So sweat doesn’t smell. Our skin has millions of normal bacteria that metabolise sweat and the byproduct is the odour that can be so unpleasant.
What causes body odour in men?
Contrary to popular opinion, sweat doesn’t smell - it’s odourless. The smell or body odour that is often attributed to sweat is caused by bacteria on your skin.
The many millions of bacteria are a part of our skin’s natural defences. These harmless bacteria feed on the sweat and metallise it, which produces the undesirable smell of body odour that so many of us find embarrassing.
Why does some sweat produce more odour?
Eccrine and Aprocrine glands are responsible for sweating in our body.
Found all over your body, Eccrine glands produce the temperature regulating sweat that doesn’t typically smell because it is high in salt which bacteria find difficult to break down.
Typically located on hair follicles around the arm and groin areas, Aprocrine glands aren’t responsible for regulating body temperature. These glands secrete high protein sweat. Emotional stress causes skin to contract which releases the sweat to a place where bacteria can break down the fatty acids.
This is why body odour is usually focused around the armpits and groin area.
Do natural deodorants actually work?
Our natural deodorants are made for high performing men. They work by essentially dealing with the bacteria that cause body odour, rather than trying to stop you sweating - an essential part of regulate our body temperature.
What is the difference between antiperspirant and deodorant?
Deodorants are designed to stop you smelling or having body odour. Anti-perspirants are made to stop you sweating from your armpits and are not something we recommend using.
What are the types of natural deodorant for men?
We use a deodorant stick because it is more practical and hygienic. You can find deodorant balms or creams, but there is risk that bacteria from your hands can infect the product, which will reduce their effectiveness.
Is it the best smelling natural deodorant for men?
We worked with our skincare experts to produce what we believe to be best smelling natural deodorant for men. It’s based around a fresh citrus scent which gives a clean feeling.
How do I use natural deodorant?
Essentially as you always have. Always apply to clean armpits. In high temperatures the product will become softer. This isn’t a problem, so you can either allow it to cool in a cool place, or use clean fingers to assist with application.
Are deodorants harmful?
Traditional deodorants and antiperspirant contain at worst known skin irritants, and there have been links to far greater health concerns. We don’t believe health is an area to take risks, so use natural ingredients, rather than petrochemicals, alcohol, fragrances etc.
Why don’t natural deodorants work for me?
If you find that natural deodorants don’t work, then first consider your diet and lifestyle. It can also take several weeks for your body to adapt to new deodorants. It’s also worth noting that temporary changes in diet or stress levels will effect short term odours.
